On October 17, 1920, the Commercial Association of São José do Rio Preto was founded with the mission of bringing together the city’s business class and defending its interests. An authentic forum for debate, Acirp went through the 20th century becoming the most representative business spokesperson in the northwest region of São Paulo.

At all times, it has been at the forefront of memorable struggles in defense of the progress of entrepreneurs, with decisive participation in the economic, political and social life of São José do Rio Preto.

From ancient times to the present day, Acirp has participated in fundamental decisions for the development of São José do Rio Preto. The organization has often played the role of Secretary of Trade and Industry, and has also spearheaded many struggles for the city’s economic improvement.

Acirp has followed step by step the changes in the economy, globalization and the transformations in Brazilian society, and today brings together large, medium, small and micro companies linked to the most diverse economic activities. There are more than four thousand members in commerce, industry, services and agribusiness. Its activities are based on a structure that provides services to its members, with the philosophy of contributing to successful business management.

Among its wide range of services to support the business community, we highlight the generation and provision of information through the SCPC (Central Credit Protection Service). Acirp also offers its members medical and dental insurance, a vehicle consortium and lines of credit for entrepreneurs.

To serve the neighborhoods of the northern region, Acirp created the Northern District, the first of many to come, from the south to the central region, meeting the needs of the business community.
